Chris Hawkins

Chris HawkinsAfter spending his teens playing lead guitar, singing, writing and mixing for a multitude of projects in his hometown of Swindon, Chris relocated to Bristol to study at the British Institute of Modern Music at age 19. Here, he studied guitar and vocals under many high-profile industry leaders, incidentally including now-fellow bandmate Jamie Hunt. During his time at BIMM, Chris co-founded metal covers band Metalhead, and joined prog-metallers Endeavour, who would release their first EP ‘From The Darkest Grounds’ in early 2014. Both bands pushed his vocal abilities to new heights, ultimately preparing him for the high-intensity performances required at each One Machine show.

In 2012, Chris co-founded Bristol Rock Guitar (, which has since grown to become the leading independent provider of rock music tuition in the Southwest UK. Here, he teaches one-on-one lessons in guitar and vocals, as well as co-ordinating workshops and student gigs. Alongside his teaching work at Bristol Rock Guitar, Chris has taught vocal masterclasses at Bath Spa University and has provided materials for the Rockschool examination board, with some of his work being featured in their vocal grade books.

Personal Statement
Since joining One Machine, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best in the biz, perform high-profile shows across Europe and record my first full length album. I’m very humbled to have been invited to be a part of this band, and I’m incredibly excited to see the release of “The Final Cull” this year. I really feel that we’ve made something people will be blown away by. I can’t wait to get out and play it live on tour!
